Frankie and the Witch Fingers Release New Singles ‘Bonehead’ & ‘i-Candy’

Frankie and the Witch Fingers have marked their triumphant return with “Bonehead” & “i-Candy,” their first new offering since last year’s landmark LP Data Doom.

‘Bonehead’ is a primitive, buzzy thumper, raw and stripped down,” the band says. “In a world where it’s easy to add more, we had a blast cooking out the junk and keeping it potent and pure. We wanted to capture the chaotic energy of those unfiltered live moments. Recorded the basics in one take, warts and all. Thrashing around with a crowd of free spirits reminds us we can push back against the parasitic noise trying to keep us controlled—this is a little slice of that in recorded form”

After the release of the brutally raw “Bonehead,” Frankie and the Witch Fingers continue to preview their new music by sharing the double AA side single, “i-Candy,” which premiered October 8th on KEXP’s Midday Show. “i-Candy” kicks off with a synth- induced groove that turns into full-on relentless riffs, soundtracking an objectified robot’s vengeance.

“Bleeps and bloops tightly wound around a precise dystopian punk nodder, these were the magic digits we needed to punch in to bring ‘i-Candy’ to life,” the band explains. “This was one of the first songs to emerge from the incubator of recent demos. ‘i-Candy’ is a female sex robot, she isn’t programmed for any man’s need; she’s out to clean up the streets and settle the score in blood.”

“i-Candy” and “Bonehead” are just the first taste of the band’s upcoming new work. “Bonehead” was named Consequence’s Heavy Song of the Week, with Jon Hadusek saying, “The Cramps-y riffs are sped up and played with grit, and the vocals waver naturally around the melody as if they’re sung by someone backed by the loose energy of a raucous rock n’ roll band.” Look out for more news on upcoming music, and catch the band live at their headline tour dates and festivals this fall.
