Welcome SPUD to the Greenway Family + New 10″ EP!

We are beyond stoked to officially welcome SPUD to the Greenway family!

SPUD is the Synth-pop solo project of Holly Findlay, bass player of Melbourne’s Stoner/Rock quartet Stonefield. SPUD’s self-titled EP was written and recorded in Holly’s bedroom during the 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic and expertly mixed by Traffik Island’s Zak Olsen. Inspired by the likes of Delta 5, Lizzy Mercier Descloux, and The Mothers of Invention, this EP is a quirky journey of self discovery.

SPUD’s debut 10” is now available now 🥔 2 color-ways up on Greenway & an exclusive Australian color pressing only available @ Strangeworld Records

Enjoy 🍟

New 7″ from Frankie and the Witch Fingers

As Frankie continues their US tour, we are so stoked to welcome some new music into the family! Frankie and the Witch Fingers have been on the road for the last few weeks, and what better time than now for them to birth some brand new music! You heard it here first! Frankie and the Witch Fingers BRAND NEW 7″: “𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧’” 𝐁/𝐖 “𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐮𝐢𝐭” is out now!

The two new tracks see the band dip themselves deeper into the abyss, following their mammoth MEPEM LP and with the addition of Nikki Pickle on bass, the whole gang delivers two new full-on head-trips!

“Cookin’ is a visceral and violent snapshot of three agents of chaos who gleefully inflict destruction and terror wherever they go. They are personifications of the brutality of nature, the wrath of humanity, and the cruel unpredictability of reality. Havoc incarnate, they weave a path of wanton destruction and utter wastefulness throughout a sweaty, summer day in Los Angeles. The significance of moral values, of good and evil, are entirely human constructs; in nature it’s only kill or be killed – and leave the remains for someone else to clean up. The themes behind this song and video are a rumination on the ways in which we are carelessly laying waste to the resources we were gifted. Nature is relentless, humans are destructive, and everything decays eventually. The planet doesn’t belong to us, we belong to the planet, and she’ll be here long after we’re gone.” – Frankie and the Witch Fingers

Greenway Studio & Office Flood + Update

On Wednesday September 1st, Hurricane Ida came to New York City, suddenly flooding streets, apartments, and our label HQ. The unexpected flood quickly came into our offices/studio space and left close to nothing to be recovered.

Brooklyn Vegan Article

It’s been a lot of taking inventory, moving as much salvageable equipment and product as possible, as well as completely emptying out our space. The outpouring of physical, emotional and financial support from family, friends and our incredible community (that we’re so lucky to be apart of) has kept us going and it’s given us the much needed hope to keep everything moving full steam ahead and determined to get back on our feet as soon as possible. Obviously the destruction has been gut-wrenching; we’ve put so much into making this space a home and creative hub, one that we loved creating from and inviting y’all to

Aside from the monetary losses from thousands of unopened Greenway vinyl and merch, our vintage recording console, 20 guitars + amps, pedals galore and all the Acid Dad merch we had for our upcoming tour, the combined lifelong collections of 8 audiophile/gearhead collectors and artists is priceless and unfortunately has been lost.

It’s funny (dark, twisted humor) that you pay every month for insurance but when something like this happens, the insurance company does everything in their power not to help you out. We’re currently battling them and they’ve made it clear that we likely won’t be getting much, if anything, from them.

But after going through something like this, at the end of the day it’s all material stuff and we’re so grateful no one was hurt, no lives were lost, we’re a little worse for wear but coming back stronger than ever thanks to you. Your generosity has kept us going and we can’t even express how much it means to us. Maybe we’ll write a song about it one day. Until then, THANK YOU for the check ins, the offers to help, the donations and the positive thoughts. We love you!
